In a New York Minute....

Just got back from my annual East Coast jaunt! This trip complete with a front-end excursion to NYC! OMG, one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. I loved it all, the energy, the sounds of taxis honking, people hustling, wind blowing through the mountains and mountains of buildings, sirens, etc. Such a cool place.

We did all the touristy things like Times Square, Empire State Building, 30 Rock, SoHo, Little Italy, Trump Tower, The Plaza, Tiffany's, and my favorite, Central Park. We also attended a Mets game and had money seats!

We stayed near Grand Central Station across the street from the infamous Cipriani's. I could not get over the mobs of people walking through the streets at ALL times! Times Square was a like a scene out of a movie or something, very Vegas-esque. The M & M store of all places was like wall-to-wall people... at 10:30 PM! LOL.

I got some great food recs from my girls Jamie and Wexler. We dined in Soho the first night at Mercat. Uber trendy, urban nook that I have no idea how she found. Mostly tapas type eats. We had the skirt steak, which was AMAZING and their sangria which was equally awesome.

The next evening we head down to Little Italy for some pizza. Stopped at this great little place in the middle of it all (cant remember what it is called, but got a pic of the store front). Really good, authentic Italian style pizza. We enjoyed Brooklyn lagers as well. We followed up our late night dinner with a special treat from Ferrara's Bakery. Holy canoli.

We also thought it would be "cool" to buy a pack of cigarettes and have a smoke like everyone else... $13.00!!! Just reaffirmed why I don't smoke.

We then spent the day at Central Park, and after I received the surprise of a lifetime, complete with one very sparkly piece of jewelery, we celebrated New York style with pastrami sandys and beers at Stage Deli. Best pastrami I ever ate, hands down.

After a whirlwind in NYC, we hopped on the train down to see the Mullins in Beantown. Worked-in the 'Marge Special', which includes a walk and shop on Newbury Street, lunch at Stephanie's and a ride on the T.

We also toured Fenway, which is always a cool site to see, team or no team in town. The Mullins were also kind enough to throw a little BBQ complete with the Kevin Mullin specialty, steak tips.

Lastly, we spent the day in Marshfield - although rainy and cold, love the this beachy nook, and had a good laugh at a horrendous KENO game whilst sippin' on a black and tan at the local Venus. Thank you Mullins for another great trip!

Needless to say I am WIPED OUT. Wonderful trip, and one I wont soon forget...

I agree with Blyth Family Blog. DUDE. You got ENGAGED. And then you ate the mother of all pastrami sandies. I hope you plan on doing a post that gives every detail of the proposal. Don't make me call up Coffey and get the scoop second hand.

A HUGE congrats! You're going to make a stunning bride. Bravo Jeremy!

(PS - LOVE your photos.)
