Make Your Own - Croutons!

Thats right folks, I make, and enjoy my very own Croutons, and its so easy that you can too!

I dont know about yall, but I buy fresh bread weekly and usually cannot get through the entire loaf before its gets stale. So, instead of tossing it out, I decided I would save myself $4 a box for croutons and simply make my own! I also like knowing what goes into my food.

They are super easy to make, and you can add any type of seasoning you like, to any type of bread you like. I really like pumperknickel (sp?) and sourdough croutons.

This is how I make mine:
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees

Step 1: Cube leftover bread (I like mine somewhat large for presentation purposes)
Step 2: Toss bread in about 2 tbls of extra virgin olive oil and s&p
Step 3: Add about 1/2 tbls each of rosemary, thyme and dill and coat equally
Step 4: Spread out on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until crisp like bruscetta
Step 5: Let cool and store in an air-tight container and they will last for at least 3 weeks (maybe more, but I have always eaten mine before I could find out)
Have at it!
